In some ways, heading into this weekend feels a bit like the day after Christmas. It's the furthest weekend away from next year's Forecastle festival and a chance to party with all you beautiful people in the awesome enclave of Louisville's Waterfront Park.
We had a great time celebrating with y'all last weekend at Forecastle 2016. We brought a ton of fresh Kentucky for Kentucky gear and set up shop near the Great Lawn. Danced in Party Cove. Laughed hysterically with the folks who mounted bouncy horses and raced in our Kentucky for Kentucky Derby. Cooled off in the fountains and met some great new friends. Flew a "Kentucky Kicks Ass" banner over downtown Louisville and then sent it off over southern Indiana to mystify some Hoosiers. Took a lot of selfies. Drank a little (lot of) bourbon. Spotted tons of folks sporting Kentucky for Kentucky gear. Joined hands in a show of unity in Muhammad Ali's memory. And grooved to kick-ass sets from the Alabama Shakes, Gary Clark Jr., The Arcs, and so many more. It was epic!
Enjoy these kick-ass photos from the weekend! The top gallery is from photographer Ryan K. Morris and photos in the bottom gallery are from Savanna Barnett. Don't forget, you can find all your favorite Kentucky for Kentucky festival gear from Forecastle and more — including "George Clooney is a Beautiful Man" and tie-dye Y'ALL tees — in the shop. See y'all next year!
