This Friday, January 19th at 10 a.m. we are launching the 5th print to the KY Natural Wonders prints series, y'all! These new Red River Gorge prints are designed by Nick Baute of Hound Dog Press and hand-printed the old fashioned way!
Located in the beautiful Daniel Boone National Forest, The Red River Gorge is designated as a National Natural Landmark, a National Archaeological District, and is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Gorge not only offers some of the best rock climbing in the world, but there are also over 60 miles of trails for amazing hiking and camping. The Red River Gorge is home to the highest concentration of sandstone arches east of the Mississippi (over 100!). And to top it all off, Miguel's Pizza, one of the best pizza joints in the world, can be found there. If you haven't been to Kentucky's Red River Gorge, you need to get your ass there asap.
Each 13" x 18" print is hand carved onto linoleum blocks, then reduced (or cut) in-between each individual color. They're printed one color at a time, one print at a time, on a 1950 Vandercook #4 printing press using 100# French Paper Co. paper (100% recycled in a hydro powered mill). The process insures that no additional prints can be made. Once these are gone, they're truly gone. Only 100 available, so grab yours while they last!
