Kentucky for Kentucky, proudly Queer led and cornbread fed, began a partnership with Queer Kentucky several years ago. We share a lot of values and kinship with this Louisville-based non-profit which bolsters and enhances Queer culture and health though storytelling, education, and action throughout Kentucky.
In 2022, we have decided to take the partnership to the next level—Kentucky for Kentucky is the Presenting Sponsor for Queer Kentucky’s first ever Queer Inclusive Workshop Statewide Tour. We got to kick off the five-city tour on March 15 at the KYforKY Fun Mall in Lexington, Kentucky! The public and free workshop has been developed primarily for business owners to learn how to make their working environments equitable, safe, affirming, and enjoyable for Trans and Queer folks. Over 50 people attended the event with owners and representatives from Lexington area businesses including our friends at Holly Hill & Company, Crank & Boom, and West 6th Brewery.

Since its inception in 2018, the Louisville-based nonprofit organization has heard and featured the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ (queer) people in Kentucky. In listening to these stories, Queer Kentucky realized there was a drastic need for specialized diversity and inclusion training (DEI) to empower employees and coworkers to create safe working spaces for their queer colleagues.
Led by individuals that self-identify as trans and non-binary, the free, two-hour workshops will cover definitions and terms and, most importantly, offering participants tools and best practices for making spaces inclusive for the LGBTQ+ community.
The WKU Alumni Center in Bowling Green hosted the second event on April 5, 2022. he statewide tour continues in Covington on May 9, Louisville on June 2, and Hazard on June 25... register here!
