Protect Trans Kentuckians

By Anne Livengood |

Now more than ever, we must Protect Trans Kentuckians, who are being targeted both in everyday life and in KY legislation. Merely days after anti-trans violence that ended the life of Zachee (read her story below) in Louisville, KY, the Kentucky House & Senate introduced a pile of anti-LGBTQ bills.

The 2023 Kentucky Legislative session became ground zero for the attack on Trans rights in the United States when they passed Senate Bill 150 in March, which is called "the worst anti-trans bill in the nation." We cannot let politicians make Kentucky an even riskier place for our queer family, friends, and neighbors to be.

Zachee

On Friday, Feb. 3rd, Zachee (pronounced Za-Shay) a Black transgender woman and fellow Kentuckian, was killed outside of her place of employment in Louisville, KY. You can read more about the story here. Too many trans folks suffer from bullying and violence due to prejudice and hate. If you'd like to contribute to Zachee's gofundme, click the link below.
